PGA Instruction

Neil Jones, Director of Golf, joins The Dominion Club with more than 28 years of experience in the golf industry, including 15 years with the PGA TOUR’s TPC Network. Born and raised in Cardiff, Wales, Neil came to America on a full golf scholarship to the University of South Carolina at Spartanburg. His parents and sisters still reside in Cardiff and Neil enjoys trips home whenever possible. After college, Neil accepted a position at the Wizard Golf Resort in Myrtle Beach where he worked for several years before joining the TPC Network in 1999 as an Assistant Golf Professional at the TPC of Myrtle Beach. After helping prepare the new facility for the grand opening and three seasons as Assistant Pro, Neil was promoted to Head Golf Professional in March 2002 where he ran a successful operation before being named as Head Golf Professional at TPC River’s Bend in April 2004. A Class A member of the Professional Golfers Association since 2001, Neil has received many of the TPC Network’s top honors and golf industry awards including, TPC Daily Fee/Resort Golf Operation of the Year; TPC Daily Fee/Resort Club Operation of the Year; and Top 100 Golf Shop in America (2001, 2002, 2012, 2013).

Bret Templeton joins as our First Assistant Golf Professional. Bret grew up in Tappahannock, Virginia. The golf business was a family affair at the Woodside Golf Course where his grandfather was the owner and PGA Professional, his father was the Green Superintendent. A graduate of Randolph Macon College with a major in English and a minor in Journalism, Bret changed gears and went with his passion beginning a golf career. His path has taken him to The Crossings Golf Club in Richmond VA; The Federal Club in Montpelier, VA; Royal New Kent Golf Club in Providence Forge, VA; Willow Oaks Country Club in Richmond, VA; and The Tradition Golf Club at Stonehenge in Williamsburg, VA. Bret specializes in Player Development and has extensive experience in Get Golf Ready, PGA Junior League, and cutting edge golf programs. He is a Class A member of the PGA of America and was an AHEAD MAPGA-APA Scholarship recipient for Level II and III Checkpoint achievements. Bret shares the love of outdoor activities with his fiancée, Molly. Their wedding is planned for November.
